Ignite India was initially conceived in 2021 to boost online visibility, crowdfunding, and recognition for NGOs committed to grassroots work. Officially launched in 2022, the organization soon pivoted to broaden credit access for the extremely impoverished, addressing the unequal reach of microfinance across demographic groups. In collaboration with student leaders and volunteers throughout Delhi NCR, Ignite India has focused on empowering women, especially those from scheduled castes, to launch their small businesses. Through a partnership with Chaupal, it has provided micro-loans to many women, supporting the establishment of successful enterprises. Additionally, Ignite India developed a bespoke curriculum for small business owners and offers daily management tips via text messages. Looking ahead, the organization aims to directly fundraise for micro-loans online and extend its services to more cities.
