Ignite India was born from the belief that grassroots NGOs deserve a louder voice and a more significant impact. Initially conceived in 2021, our mission was to enhance online visibility and crowdfunding for these vital organisations. However, as we delved deeper, we recognised a larger, unmet need—access to credit for India's most impoverished populations. This realisation reshaped our journey, and in 2022, we officially launched with a broader mission: to democratise microfinance and empower women, particularly those from scheduled castes, to build sustainable businesses.
Our Story
Ignite India was founded in 2021 with a vision to empower the most marginalized communities by expanding access to financial literacy and microfinance. Initially focused on enhancing the online visibility and crowdfunding efforts of grassroots NGOs, Ignite India quickly pivoted to address the broader issue of financial inclusion.
Ignite India has forged impactful partnerships with organizations like Chaupal, Ekal Vidyalaya, and Shikshalay, transforming financial inclusion for marginalized women. Collaborating with Chaupal, Ignite India facilitated $50,000 in microloans for 330 women in Delhi’s slums, empowering them economically. Additionally, through partnerships with Ekal and Shikshalay, Ignite India developed a comprehensive financial literacy curriculum, reaching thousands of women across rural and urban slum communities. These efforts equip women with the tools and knowledge to control their financial futures and uplift their communities.
